Nettiquette

Nettiquette is the generally accepted rules and behaviour of communicating online. It has been created to allow users to express themselves without misunderstanding and can also be used to fill in the non-verbal gaps in online convocations and blogging. Nettiquette can include using emotions by the use of smiley faces to show when a person is using sarcasm and humour from when they are being serious. As well as general nettiquette many organizations create their own to be used in their companies email and online systems. These can differ to general nettiquette by including rules such as the use formal language, forwarding and quoting. With internet communication now playing a major part in today’s society it is important that people are aware of nettiquette and use it appropriately.
